How to browse guided experiences and courses

  1. Tap Explore and select the Courses & Experiences tab.
  2. Browse available offerings by activity type (e.g. climbing courses, ski touring guides, avalanche safety).
  3. You can also search for courses and experiences via the map view.
  4. Tap any listing to see full details including the guide's profile, itinerary, what's included, and price.
  5. Prices are set by each guide or activity provider and may vary based on conditions, group size, or equipment needs — check the listing carefully.

How guide sharing works

If you're looking for a guide but want to share the cost with others, Oak has a guide sharing feature. You can create a shared request, set a minimum group size, and secure your spot. Once the group fills with people interested in the same activity, the guide receives a booking request. This makes guided experiences more accessible and affordable.

How to book a guided experience

  1. Open the experience or course you want to book.
  2. Review the details carefully — dates, price, group size, difficulty level, required equipment, and prerequisites. Make sure you're confident you meet the requirements before booking.
  3. Select your preferred date if multiple options are available.
  4. Tap Book Now.
  5. Complete the payment — either full payment or the specified deposit, depending on the listing. Oak handles bookings and payments in-app. All recognised cards are accepted (bank transfer is not available).
  6. Your booking is confirmed once payment is received. You'll receive a confirmation both in-app and by email.

Before you book, keep in mind:

  • All guides on Oak are verified by Oak, but you should also independently confirm your guide's qualifications, insurance, and professional status.
  • You're responsible for being fit and skilled enough for the activity, bringing appropriate equipment in safe working condition, and communicating any medical conditions to your guide in advance.
  • Mountain and outdoor activities carry inherent risks. We strongly recommend holding personal insurance that covers outdoor and mountain activities, including rescue where applicable.
  • Your guide may provide specific technical equipment as described in the listing — confirm what is and isn't included before the activity.
