How to set up your profile
Oak walks you through a guided setup when you first create your account. All fields are optional, but you'll need to
set your sports and skill level for each sport before you can join activities.
- Add a profile photo — this helps other users recognise you and builds trust.
- Write a short bio about yourself and the activities you enjoy.
- Select your preferred sports (e.g. skiing, climbing, hiking, mountain biking).
- Set your skill level for each sport — this is required so other users and activity hosts can see whether you're a good match.
- Set your home location — this helps Oak show you relevant activities and communities nearby.
- Tap Done to save your profile. You can edit it anytime from your profile screen.
How to build your mountain profile
Your mountain profile is your outdoor CV within Oak. You can manually upload activities you've done in the past
to build out your profile — logging what you've done, where, and when. This helps others see your experience
and makes it easier to find the right partners and activities.
How to set your location and search radius
1. Go to your Profile and tap Settings.
2. 3. Under Location, set your home location or allow Oak to use your current location.
Use the radius filter to control how far from a city you want to search for activities, communities, and
experiences.
How to manage your notifications
1. Go to your Profile and tap Settings.
2. Tap Notifications.
3. Toggle notifications on or off for:
- Chat messages
- Activity recommendations
