There are numerous peaks in the Alborz mountain range, which is located in northern Iran. Tochal Peak above Tehran has numerous hiking and mountaineering trails. A cable car line goes up to an altitude of 4,500 meters, where the Tochal ski resort and hotel operate in the winter.
