DAY ONE Meeting in Cervinia and ascent to the Teodulo Hut, a splendid mountain hut with a view of the Matterhorn. We will practice cramponing to learn how to move efficiently with crampons on our feet and build a solid foundation for all our future experiences. DAY TWO We will climb the Western Breithorn, a 4,165-meter peak on the border between Italy and Switzerland, offering breathtaking views over the entire Monte Rosa massif, Zermatt, and all the surrounding mountains. After descending, we will move on to Gressoney. (By car) DAY THREE We will take advantage of the “lower altitude” and our body’s adaptation with an active recovery day. We will review climbing, knots and mountaineering techniques and tackle a via ferrata. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a yoga and meditation session to relax and mentally prepare for the climbs of the following days. DAY FOUR We will ascend to the Gnifetti or Mantova Hut, where we will further develop rope techniques and glacier travel skills, as well as crevasse rescue maneuvers. DAY FIVE We will set off at dawn for the ascent to the highest refuge in Europe, Capanna Margherita, a bold structure built in 1983, standing at 4,554 meters. Here we will stop for a snack, and on the descent we will summit other peaks in the group such as Balmenhorn and Piramide Vincent, or alternatively Zumstein, Parrot, and Ludwigshöhe. DAY SIX We will depart from the Gnifetti Hut and, if group conditions and the mountain allow, climb Punta Giordani (4,046 m) before descending toward Staffal.

Francesco Perrone
IFMGA Guide
Hi everyone, I'm Francesco! I'm an IFMGA/UIAGM Mountain Guide from Italy, based in the beautiful Aosta Valley, right at the foot of Mont Blanc. I've been guiding since 2020, and these days I'm deeply focused on training programs that help people push their limits and build solid mountain knowledge. I believe that a skilled mountaineer should be ready to face any situation. As for me, I keep exploring, climbing, skiing, biking — and often mixing them — to stay sharp and prepared for the next adventure! Instagram: @fra.perrons
