A 5-day ascent of Mont Blanc (4,810 m) via the Goûter route, with extra days built in for altitude preparation before the summit push. The extra time compared to the 3-day version gives a stronger acclimatisation profile and a better shot at a successful, safer summit day. Why 5 days: Mont Blanc's main risk isn't technical difficulty, it's altitude. The 5-day format uses the additional days for preparation and acclimatisation rounds before committing to summit day, which meaningfully improves both safety and summit success compared to a rushed 3-day attempt. Who it's for: Mountaineers with some glacier and crampon experience who want the best possible preparation before their Mont Blanc attempt, not necessarily already acclimatised to altitude coming in. Conditions: Hut places at Tête Rousse and Goûter are secured for the dates offered. Departure is guaranteed with 2 people signed up; below that, the trip may be cancelled or a supplement offered to guarantee it goes ahead.
• Mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axe, harness, helmet; layered mountain clothing, waterproof shell, warm insulated jacket; headlamp; sleeping liner for the huts; sun protection; water bottle and snacks
