A true local classic with one of the best views in the Mont Blanc massif! Dent du Geant stands as the perfect overlooking spot, but getting there is no easy job. This trip is suitable for people with experience in walking with crampons, some rock climbing, rappelling and rope handling. Because all of that is happening at a proper near 4000 meters high, we will have an acclimatization day on which to do the popular traverse of Aiguilles Marbees. The ridge is a good intro to the nearby alpine environment with a few options to play with in terms of difficulty, but also a good testpiece for the abilities needed to give it a try on Dent du Geant. On day one we meet either in Chamonix or at the base of the notorious Skyway lift above Courmayeur, then going up to Rifugio Torino, have a short pause and go straight to the ridge of Marbees. Spending the night at the hut would give us a chance for a proper early alpine start on day two. At the end of it and hopefully after having stood on top of Dent du Geant, we descend back down with the lift to the car.
